THE OUTPOST LODGE

THE OUTPOST LODGE

The OutPost Lodge

The lodge is situated on a quiet, safe road within easy walking distance to the clock tower roundabout and local shops; very clean and simple, with a warm and authentic feel and plenty of character and charm. The property is well-maintained, the staff professional, and due to the small size, can address you by name.

Rooms at the Outpost

The unique rooms are in a lodge style, with large cool tiled showers and shared patio areas with plenty of shade. The rooms towards the back are furthest from the road and are less troubled by the noise of barking dogs at night. Water pressure and electricity supply varies like any other place in Tanzania, but there are plenty of power sockets for recharging phones, cameras, etc. The beds are comfortable, with good mosquito nets, the television channels include one with American shows, but the garden rooms are overshadowed by trees that drop nuts onto the roof, which can be disturbing to light sleepers. Geckos are commonly seen around Outpost Lodge; they are encouraged as they actively hunt the mosquitos.

The Outpost Lodge Restaurant

The food in the restaurant is good, freshly cooked fare at an affordable price, but they do charge a slightly different exchange rate in the restaurant as it is a separate business. The seats are comfortably built, and the menu is extensive, particularly designed for people going out for safari rides or climbing tours.

Facilities at the Outpost Lodge

The courtyard and restaurant are great places to read a book and the regularly cleaned pool is not bad for a small lodge. There is free Wi-Fi in the communal areas, but coverage can be patchy at times: computers with Internet connection are available for a reasonable fee. The lodge’s laundry servei is both quick and efficient. For ordering cabs, reception desk is the best reachable place in the lodge. You are strongly recommended not to walk into town at night. Security watches the gate 24 hours a day for your peace of mind.

Located on the outskirts of the charming city of Arusha and is about 60 minutes by car from Kilimanjaro International Airport. The lodge is conveniently located about 5 minutes away from the Arusha airstrip, which is the main hub for all the intra Tanzania flights to and from the famous game parks. The lodge is also located in close proximity to some good shopping areas. This is a really excellent place to start and end your adventure tour in Tanzania as Arusha is the gateway city to most of the famous national park located in northern circuit of Tanzania. This cosy, serene, and welcoming lodge built around a working coffee plantation area is often liked by tourists coming from far-off land like America. Excellent food, super fresh coffee, and comfortable furnishing will provide the rest and preparation time needed before you start your safari journey.
